Comparison of various alkyl glycosides

2025-12-31

Let's explore the differences among the three models in the APG product series.

APG0810: Caprylyl/capryl glucoside

1. With mild performance, eco-friendly, non-toxic, and non-irritating properties, it exhibits excellent foaming capability and abundant foam, making it widely used in personal care products and household detergents such as shampoo, bath gel, dish soap, laundry detergent, and hand soap.

2. It has good solubility, permeability and compatibility in strong alkali and electrolyte, no corrosion effect on all kinds of materials, no trace after washing and no stress cracking, suitable for household cleaning, industrial hard surface cleaning, textile industry alkali-resistant refining agent, petroleum extraction foaming agent, etc.

3. As a green and environmentally friendly surfactant, it serves as an excellent foaming agent for bubble water. Additionally, it can be utilized as an emulsifier for pesticides, not only enhancing their efficacy but also preventing environmental pollution. This effect is particularly pronounced in glyphosate and glufosinate aqueous solutions.

APG1214: lauryl glucoside

1. With mild performance, it is the least irritating variety in the entire product series, non-irritating to the eyes, and exhibits excellent ecological compatibility. It is widely applicable to personal care and household cleaning: cosmetics such as shampoo, hand soap, facial cleanser, and shower gel, as well as daily chemical detergents like transparent soap, laundry detergent, and dishwashing liquid. It has gained widespread recognition, particularly in the field of infant cosmetics.

2. The characteristics of no rinsing and no residue make it particularly suitable for no-rinse formulations, such as hair care products like conditioners and styling products like hair gel, as well as for dishwashing detergents and hard surface cleaning applications.

APG0814: Cocoyl Glucoside

1. This product features low surface tension, excellent cleaning performance, and abundant fine foam. It can be blended with any type of surfactant to achieve significant synergistic effects. The product is easy to dilute, free from cloud point and gelation, and convenient to use. It serves as a primary ingredient in personal care and household detergents such as shampoo, shower gel, facial cleanser, laundry detergent, hand soap, dishwashing detergent, and fruit/vegetable cleaning agents. It is also applicable to fracturing fluid products.

2. This product is formulated from APG1214 and APG0810, combining the advantages of both compounds. It exhibits moderate penetration and emulsification properties, demonstrating greater versatility.
