Do you want to save on your functional shampoo?

2026-01-20

In shower gels or shampoos, many brands prefer to formulate products with a pearlescent appearance or incorporate functional ingredients such as selenium disulfide and glycyrrhizin. This necessitates the addition of suspending agents to ensure the thorough dispersion of these water-insoluble small particles and substances like silicone oil within the system.

Our dispersant: Runtec®SP40:

Constituents: Water; Hydrogenated castor oil; Sodium methyl cocooyl taurate; Cocamidopropyl betaine; lauric acid; Phenoxyethanol; Ethylhexylglycerol

Principle: Utilizing the hydroxyl bridging of hydrogenated castor oil to form hydrogen bonds in water, a dendritic network structure is constructed. This high-density, uniformly distributed dendritic network facilitates the suspension of insoluble components such as silicone oil and ZPT, thereby enhancing product stability.

Why Choose Runtec®SP40 as Your Suspension Agent?

√ Plant origin

√ It can effectively suspend and disperse small particles insoluble in water, pearlescent agents, and silicone oil. Prevent the precipitation of raw materials in the formula to cause the product to stratify.

√ The low usage rate enables cost savings in formulation. Data indicate that adding 0.3% Runtec®SP40 achieves the same suspension effect as 0.6% Distearoyl Phthalic Acid Amide or 2% Acrylates Copolymer. Moreover, Runtec®SP40 exhibits significantly milder odor compared to Acrylates Copolymer.

√ Auxiliary thickening to prevent gelation of the product.

√ Wide pH applicability: This product performs well across the pH range of 3 to 11.

√ No impact on the combing performance of shampoo after addition

How to use it?

To ensure complete dispersion, it is recommended to first disperse Runtec®SP40 in room temperature water, then add and stir at a high temperature of 70-80°C until fully dissolved, followed by maintaining the temperature for 15-30 minutes.
